Reflections on a Year of Purpose and Positive Impact

As the year winds down, it’s important to reflect on the people we’ve helped, the impact we’ve had on our communities and the stories that shaped our work. Whether we helped a new team member find a fulfilling career, found savings for a person on a fixed income, or filled a solar farm that supported a local farmer and small community, we want to know that we’ve made a difference for others.

By the numbers, our impact was substantial. We helped more than 5,000 households and hundreds of businesses throughout the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic and Midwest join a local solar farm, representing more than 75,000,000 kWh of electricity that will be generated by local solar farms and added into the local energy supply. That represents more than 50,000 metric tonnes of CO₂ or more than 800,000 seedlings planted and grown for 10 years!

More important than the numbers, though, are the people and the stories along the way. People have invited us into their homes for a glass of lemonade on a hot summer day. They fed us cake and told us about their families. Connecting with people at their homes and in their neighborhoods is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.

But there’s so much more. A day doesn’t go by without us helping people understand the charges on their electric bill or sort out some issue that is confusing or costing them money. Our job is to educate people about community solar and help them join a local solar farm. But our mission is to help them, in any way we can, whether that’s lending an ear or sorting out a problem with their bill.

Thank you to everyone who asked questions, challenged us, shared concerns, or simply listened. You’ve shaped our work more than you know.

We’re grateful for every person, business, community partner, and team member who walked this path with us in 2025. You’re not just participants in community solar—you are co-creators of a more sustainable, fairer energy future for all of us.
